Metropolitan Opera House

The Metropolitan Opera House is part of the Lincoln Center complex, located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by architect Wallace K. Harrison, the building opened on September 16, 1966 with the premiere of Samuel Barber’s Anthony and Cleopatra. The theatre is noted for its excellent acoustics, and seats approximately 3800, one of the largest in the world.
