Restaurant Design

Delicious food and an attentive wait staff are part of what make a restaurant experience great, but if you're visiting a themed eating establishment or bar, the concept takes center stage. The theme will influence the architecture, food, music, and ambience of the restaurant or bar, transporting you out of the everyday, perhaps into another time period or part of the world. David Tallichet, a Texan entrepreneur, has been called the father of the themed restaurant; in the 1960's, he began decorating Southern California restaurants as Polynesian islands, New England fishing villages and French farmhouses. Since then, period bars, medieval banquets and futuristic eateries have been popular in the U.S. and across the world.
